July 2010 update on the Kopu Bridge upgrade
Piling and pier construction is now under way in earnest and the project is on track for completion in mid-2012.
The project includes construction of the new bridge, 2.5km of approach roads, a new link road to State Highway 26 east of the bridge and a new two-lane roundabout at the junction of SH25 and SH26.
